Instructions

To add a new Presentation, follow these directions:

  1. Upload the presentation
  2. Create the page: In the "Search" box on the left, type the full title of the presentation. Make sure to capitalize and follow the exact title of the page. Click "Go". If this is a new article, it will display an error that it cannot find the page; so click "create this article" to open up the edit box.
  3. Copy and paste the template: Copy the template skeleton below into the edit box. Edit the fields with the appropriate data. If the data is optional, you may remove that line completely from the skeleton. The following fields are used:
    • presenter: the presenter. If the person is a user of our LiNC group website, then use their username (e.g., "sriram"); otherwise, use their full name.
    • date: the dates for the presentation, as you would write it in a bibliography
    • location: where you gave the presentation
    • purpose: why you gave the presenation (for a visit? an internship? project?)
    • ppt: the name of the PowerPoint file stored on this server
    • abstract: The abstract. Use caution if your abstract uses the characters | or }... you may have to play around to get these to show up right (try encapsulationg them in <nowiki>|</nowiki> tags)
