Overview
Network coding is an extension of classic network analysis. Traditionally, nodes in a network route packets they receive. However, in the seminal paper "Network Information Flow" by R. Ahlswede, N. Cai, S.-Y. R. Li, and R. W. Yeung, it was shown that higher throughput can be achieved in a network if the nodes are allowed to code their packets.
